| Initial Instructions: | Step 1: Test database connectivity to our sample database We use a SQL Server 2008 sample database based on Microsoft's Northwind database. Download the report listed below and run it in preview mode. The video tutorial will guide you through all of the test and configuration proceduress. To connect to our database you will need the following information:
Step 2. Install the SQL Server 2008 Native Client (do only if the DataConnect report fails) The files below can be used to update your computer's ability to connect to a SQL Server 2008 database using the connection method of SQL OLE DB. These files should only be downloaded and installed if you discover your computer's drivers are out of date (Step 1). The installation files were developed by Microsoft and are simply being re-distributed here. Detailed instruction are available on Microsoft's website. Click here to visit. | Expert Option | Another option is to install any version of SQL Server 2008 and load the sample database. The video does not show the steps required to do this, but we have provided the database in a ZIP file in the event you have to use this option or just simply want to. |
